Wanting to go a little on the wild side? Then introduce a bohemian vibe to your wedding with some magenta, purple, golden yellow and sky blue. Work that little bit of whimsy in with your cake, your invitations by using personal touches, colour and design or in your flowers.

Use a lot of colour and optimism, it’s your wedding. A time to celebrate after all, it’s not all doom and gloom out there.

The Bohemian Bride definitely gives out a positive, colourful, creative energy vibe.

Keep your Colours Captivating

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Bold and beautiful is the key for wedding colors this year. Past color schemes such as lilac with purple tones, or chocolate browns with soft greens are likely to continue, but will be reinvented through outbursts of fresher, more vivid colors. No matter which color you choose, think bright, saturated, and exotic.

So how do you use these bright colors without going overboard? The trick is to have the major elements simple and classic. Keep your wedding gown elegant and traditional and carefully coordinate it with your bridesmaid’s dresses and groomsmen outfits. Then go crazy with color for your accessories - place settings, flower arrangements, venue dĂ©cor, and cake trimmings. A little punch of color makes a big statement.

If you’re having problems choosing a color scheme, turn to current trends in home dĂ©cor and fashion. Variant shades of blues, yellows, and oranges are popular colors on the runways this year. Keep track of what catches your eye and try and imagine how they would look on your big day.

Marvelous Mexico

Mexico - just thinking the name calls up images of beautiful beaches and incredible culture. Mexico offers something for everyone wanting to get married abroad. It is great for those wanting the fairytale beach wedding, or those wanting a wedding full of culture, or those just wanting to get away from it all. Mexico fits most every budget and is great for groups. Imagine water so clear, you can see to the bottom from almost anywhere. That is the backdrop to the white sand that your bare feet are standing in. Your dress is flowing in the breeze and your fiancé is across from you in a beach shirt and shorts. You exchange your vows in front of your friends and family. After many incredible pictures, you enter one of the all-inclusive restaurants to have your reception dinner. The food is incredible and the drinks are flowing. Your hotel wedding planner has taken care of everything - all you needed to do was show up. Easy. Simple. Beautiful. If you are planning to go away for a week, why not make it two. You can then have a honeymoon after your wedding. After everyone ventures home, go ahead and switch hotels. This will change up your vacation and give you something new to look forward to. An incredible way to start your lives together.

In Mexico you can choose a destination full of wonderful activities or the relaxation of a beautiful beach. There is the bustling non-stop atmosphere of Cancun or Acapulco or the more laid-back resorts of the Mayan Rivera. Acres of tranquil landscaped gardens, historical colonial cities, costal reefs, hacienda style hotels and miles of swaying beaches are just some of your options in Mexico. With all of its varied attractions, Mexico is definitely unique.

Reflective Romance

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Jen Tavaroli from Atmosphere Wedding Planning and Design calls this table “Reflective Romance”. It is conceptualized around the romantic at heart. The white pin-tuck table linen is a wonderful base for the stunning gold dinner plates, and white satin chair covers give an airy feel. Splashes of red and black accents are added by the party favors and dinner menus to amplify the mood of the decor. The elegant centerpiece uses clear wine glasses, basic candles, and glamorous diamonds to create a sense of love and comfort. The romance comes alive with the sparkle and grace of the rhinestone napkin buckles. This table speaks to the confident bride who doesn’t need anything but simplicity to create the atmosphere.
