Viva Las Vegas - Wedding Venues

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Las Vegas. It’s a city for adventure, love, and making memories.

But it’s not all wild parties and reckless nights. The city of lights has some amazing venues for weddings too. Here are a few of the favourites, in no particular order:

Ceasar’s Palace
As the website says: “Why get married at a chapel when you can get married at a palace?” Ceasar’s Palace offers a variety of packages to suit your needs, and promises to make your wedding dreams come true. You can look at their wedding brochure here.

Wynn Las Vegas
Wynn Las Vegas offers several packages, from the Petite to the Forever. The signature, domed chapel and small to huge reception areas are wonderful, and the reliable staff and wedding planners on hand can help you to create and then enjoy the wedding you want.  View their packages here.

The Venetian
The Venetian’s Event Planners “will ensure that you relax and enjoy one of the most incredible days of your life by providing you with expert guidance and thoughtful recommendations for every element of your wedding and stay…” at the world’s largest 5 Star Resort. Sounds like the honeymoon starts early. Plus, you can have your ceremony on a gondola, if you like!  See their packages here.

Mandalay Bay
If you’re looking for a tropical, exotic feel for your wedding, but want to keep your celebration (a bit) closer to home, look no further than Mandalay Bay. With a wave pool, a sandy beach, and plenty of themed rooms to choose from, Mandalay Bay brings the charm of the islands to you in Las Vegas. More information here.

Graceland Wedding Chapel
No Las Vegas wedding venue list is complete without a nod to the Graceland Wedding Chapel. For 50 years it has been a cultural landmark, and a destination for those looking to tie the knot, Elvis fans, and celebrities alike. If you’re brave enough, and an Elvis themed wedding suits your tastes, this is the place for you. And if it’s not - they also host traditional weddings. The Graceland Wedding Chapel is a classic tourist destination for nearlyweds, newlyweds, and those looking to renew their vows. Visit the website.

Incredible Engagement Stories - Amie & Leagh

Reenacting your first date (or the day you met) can be the perfect way to pop the question…

Amie & Leagh
September 15, 2012

Leagh and I met while driving on the highway as we passed each other of couple times. We noticed one another, smiled and waved. We continued to “car flirt” for a whole hour until we got to Vancouver. We finally turned in the opposite directions and we didn’t think we would see each other again. Surprisingly . . . two weeks later while I’m waiting at a red light in Vancouver and I look over and see Leagh with a huge smile on his face waving at me. I was really excited to see him again; it was such a coincidence! We rolled down our windows and awkwardly chatted, the light turned green and we started driving (him in front of me), I figured he’d give me his number at the next red, but all the lights were green! We eventually got to the spot where we turn our separate ways and then all of sudden he stops the car in the middle of the busy street, gets out and tells me he’s not about to miss his chance to give me his number . . . it was really romantic. The next day we were texting all day! Then on the way home we ran into each other again! We decided to stop and have coffee right away. The second we saw each other in the coffee shop we knew . . . it was love at first sight.

So here is how Leagh proposed. He called me in the morning and told me we had to drive separately into Vancouver. I was a bit suspicious, but I got in my car and started driving towards the highway. I was chatting with Leagh on the phone while I drove and complained about this slow limo in front of me. The road finally split into two lanes and zoomed onto the highway. Then Leagh tells me to pull over on the side of the road. I wait for a bit then in my rear-view mirror I see the limo pull over behind me. Leagh opens the back door and our song, “At Last” by Etta James is playing. As I walk over to the limo he gets on one knee and proposes right there on the highway where first saw each other! We drove into Vancouver and stopped at all our favorite places. I eventually caught on that he was reenacting all our first date stops. He truly planned the perfect day!

Hilary & Mike – Financially and Romantically Stable

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Before tying the knot at an intimate Fairytale wedding in Santa Barbara, Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff signed a prenuptial agreement.

Though they don’t sound very romantic, prenups are actually an extremely smart way to organize finances, property ownership, debt resolution and asset division, etc., should something happen to end a marriage. What does this mean? That couples know where they stand financially at the beginning of their life together. Basically, if Hilary and Mike split up, they already have agreements in place to protect their respective interests, and facilitate easy, quick, and relatively painless division of wealth.

Rather than fighting over financial details during divorce, at which time things can get out of hand and ugly, couples can refer to their prenups to ensure they are each getting what was agreed.

Also called an antenuptial agreement, a prenup is a written contract signed by both parties before marriage. It is a legal agreement that has existed for hundreds of years, dating back to European royal marriages.

In addition to Mike “The Brick” Comrie’s family net worth of $500 million, singer/actress/owner of her signature fragrance line, Hilary Duff also has a net worth of $25 million to safeguard. According to Gail Vaz-Oxlade, host of Slice’s “Til Debt Do Us Part,” “Money is the number one cause of failed relationships.”

A prenup was a sound and mature decision made by both Mike & Hilary.

Incredible Engagement Stories - Marina & Marc

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

This is Marina & Marc’s fairy-tale story of their journey to an “Enchanted Engagement”.

Marina & Marc
July 16, 2011

From May to June 2009, Marc and I were on a long road trip travelling throughout California. On June 5th 2009, which happened to also be my 23rd birthday, we were at Disneyland watching the fireworks in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle.

Then after the fireworks . . . Marc took me into the garden by the castle where he got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him. The engagement was very special to me and it was nice that he asked me in the place where dreams really do come true!

This is truly an engagement that would make any lucky girl feel like a Disney princess. I am so glad that you found your prince Marina. Like every fairy-tale ending, we at Bridal Fantasy hope that Marina & Marc live happily every after!
