Incredible Engagement Stories - Tania & Matt

Fairy Godmother

Tania & Matt
September 10, 2011

Once upon a time…
There was a Prince who wished for a Princess. The problem was that throughout his kingdom (Louis Pasteur Middle School) no one knew he was a Prince, not even Tania. It isn’t easy being a teenager. Even a girl destined to be a Homecoming Princess has to focus on her family and her grades and may not have a chance to notice the boy in the homeroom class, Matt. She definitely wouldn’t have notice as he used to grade the papers for his teachers (Teachers pet?). Matt actually had all the makings of a perfect match, but even though Tania sat right in front of him, he was just too shy to tell her that he was worth getting to know. And before he got up his nerve to let her know his feelings, they were both sent away to the foreign land of High School, destined never to see one another again.

The Magic
Fortunately Matt had a fairy godmother (Facebook) and fifteen years later having never forgotten his princess, he asked Facebook to find her. And there she was, just like he remembered her and living in the same town. Matt however, had grown into the prince he was meant to become and was no longer a shy 15 year-old. He wrote to her and asked if she remembered him, hoping that his long lost love was still carrying a torch for him. She had no idea who he was. However, she was impressed with who he had become. They had a lot in common and she wanted to meet up with him to catch up and talk about the old times. When they did meet, there was no question. After hours of conversation and laughter, Tania knew what Matt had always known, they were perfect for each other.

The Glass Slipper
Two years later, Matt and Tania were still talking for hours, completely in love and inseparable. Matt was certain that this princess was everything he had dreamed and it was time to ask her to be his wife. However, it would have to be more than a simple question. The proposal had to be perfect and it had to represent their journey together.

On vacation in a tiny boutique, Tania saw an engagement ring that she fell in love with and Matt took note. He knew now what the glass slipper needed to be. He was already planning. With a bottle of Louis 13th Remi Martin Cognac he asked Tania’s father for permission to ask for her hand. With his blessing, Matt crafted his plan. On the fifteenth anniversary of their 8th grade graduation, Matt had a friend, now teaching at Louis Pasteur Middle School, to invite Tania back to their old kingdom. On the day he had thought he lost her, he would ask her to never be lost to him again.

When Tania walked into the classroom, the homeroom where she sat in front of Matt, she was met with a surprise. On his knee with the ring before him, was Matt. He asked her to be his wife and Tania knew this was a question to which she could only answer “YES”.

Happily Ever After…
As Tania and Matt plan their wedding, they know that they are incredibly fortunate to have lived such a fairy tale. Tania is managing her own startup business while helping out at her family’s restaurant and Matt is working hard as a computer programmer. No matter their finances, the wedding will be a dream. After all, the Prince and Princess always live happily ever after…
