Jeremy and I have been together since September of 2002. On June 12, 2009 Jeremy proposed!
I was coming off a set of night shifts and Jeremy woke me up later in the afternoon. I was not very keen on getting up and I guess you could say I was being kind of ‘grouchy’. Jeremy has a pilot license and said he needed to go flying and take a picture of his brother and sister-in-laws’ farm from the air and needed me to take the picture. I could not understand the urgency of it, but we decided to get up.
We flew over his brother’s farm and while I was trying to get a picture, Jeremy said, “Dad wants us to look at his field and see how it is doing.” We were flying over the field and there wasn’t too much growing yet. Then Jeremy said well lets look over here and flew to another part of the field. He did a pass and in the field I saw a perfect side profile of a huge diamond ring!!! He asked me if I knew what it was. “It’s a RING, it’s a RING!” I said. He then landed the plane right there, stepped out, and got down on one knee and proposed with an engagement ring very similar to the design of the ring in the field. He then said he wanted to go out for supper to celebrate. When we got to the restaurant both of our families were there to congratulate us, again another surprise!
